Former Seabrook Crisps boss secures £120k from Dragons’ Den
Former Seabrook Crisps md John Tague proved popular with the investors on the BBC TV programme Dragons’ Den and the readers of this site after he secured £120,000 as a result of his appearance on the show.
Four out of the five Dragons fought it out to invest in the Liverpudlians’ crisps business on the September 2 episode of the series.
Deborah Meaden and Peter Jones each paid £62,500 for a 15% stake in the business which already had contracts to supply Asda, Tesco and B&M Home Stores.
Tague estimated the business would be worth £2.2M by 2017 and £4.8M by 2018.
What happened next: Since appearing on the show, Tague has written to Sainsbury to try and secure a listing with the retailer.
