Northern Irish meat processor Dunbia is seeking potential buyers as it lines up options for future growth, it has emerged.

A promotional document, known as a ‘teaser’, has been sent to businesses that may want to invest in the firm headquartered in Dungannon, County Tyrone.

A spokeswoman for Dunbia confirmed that a ‘teaser’ has gone out to the market in order to establish any interest there but said it was still “very early stages”​.

“Dunbia has enjoyed consistent growth over the past number of years and has ambitious plans to grow and expand the business,” ​she said. 

“Market dynamics are continually evolving and we are currently exploring the best options to ensure that we are well placed to meet the demands of the marketplace, now and in the future.”

The firm,head-quartered in Dungannon in County Tyrone, has received “several expressions of interest”​ from would-be investors over the past two years.

‘Maximising the potential’

“We are now considering options for maximising the potential of the company going forward,” ​she said.

“Whilst we are working on plans for the future, our focus very much remains on day-to-day operations and delivering a first class service to our customers - in other words, business as usual.”
