Chilled convenience food manufacturer Greencore has donated gifts of chocolate, cakes and wine to support a Christmas Craft Fair at a primary School near its north Yorkshire factory.

Greencore Grocery in Selby made the donation to Barlby Bridge Primary School, which is located less than five minutes from its site, as part of the manufacturer’s “commitment to working with local communities”.

‘Meet Santa himself’

The gifts helped to raise £400. “The atmosphere on the day was extremely positive and children got the opportunity to meet Santa himself!,” said the firm.

Barlby Bridge School serves families from the Barlby and Selby community. The Friends of Barlby Bridge School, a small group of parents who raise money to benefit children attending the school, thanked Greencore for its donation.

Fundraising is for children in the years three to six to help them attend Selby Leisure Centre for a 10- week swimming tuition course.
