Dairy co-operative appoint new md
Richard Hampton has been promoted to md of the Organic Milk Suppliers Co-operative (OMSCo).
He is currently ceo of the dairy co-operative, having joined in 2003 and working in a variety of roles since then.
He started his career at St Ivel as account manager in 1996.
Hampton was praised for his role in developing the £25M co-operative into a £100M business by OMSCo’s chairman Nicholas Saphir.
OMSCo supplies organic milk, with over 200 farmer-owner members and with core customers in the UK, Europe and the US.
Hampton said he was “delighted” to have the opportunity to implement the milk pool and product development plans for 2015.
“While the general organic milk market in the UK is seeing little or no volume growth, OMSCo will continue to support its existing and successful customer base, at the same time as increasing its developments into growth markets and new product areas,” he said.
“We’re confident that we’ll need more milk from our members, both this year and well into the future, so I’m very excited to be leading the co-op during this critical period of its development.”
