Booker boss revealed
Former Müller Dairies UK & Ireland boss Stewart Gilliland was revealed as Richard Rose’s successor as non-executive chairman of Booker.
Rose will step down at the conclusion of the firm’s annual general meeting July 8.
Gilliland initially joined the board of Booker in 2010 as an independent non-executive director.
He is currently senior independent director of Mitchells & Butlers and vending machine business Vianet Group, and a non-executive director of Tulip, Natures Way Food, C&C Group and Sutton and East Surrey Water.
He was ceo of Müller Dairies UK and Ireland between 2006 and 2010, before leaving to take on the role of chairman of the Müller’s UK Dairy business for 10 months.
He has also previously worked for Whitbread and brewers Interbrew and InBev.
Rose said Gilliland’s “considerable experience” in both the wholesale and retail sectors was invaluable.
