Sainsbury safety head appointed to FSA board
Sainsbury’s head of product quality safety and supplier performance Alec Kyriakides has been appointed to the Food Standards Agency’s (FSA) Advisory Committee on the Microbiological Safety of Food (ACMSF). He has previously served on the ACMSF.
The ACMSF provides the FSA with independent advice on the microbiological safety of food.
The University of Liverpool’s Professor Miren Iturriza-Gómara has also been appointed to the ACMSF.
She is currently Professor of Virology at the Department of Clinical Infection Microbiology and Immunology, Institute of Infection and Global Health, University of Liverpool.
They will both sit terms until March 31 2019.
Meanwhile, Dr Roy Betts and Prof Goutam Adek were both reappointed to the ACMSF.
