Pure Circle has launched a new stevia product aimed at reducing the sugar content of dairy products.

Sigma-D is Pure Circle’s most recent launch, following the success of its Stevia 3.0 product, it says.

“Stevia adoption rates have been on the rise in recent years, and many manufacturers are now realising the opportunity to offer mid-calorie products to their consumers with natural origin sweetness,”​ says John Martin, global director of technical development and communication.


However, most stevia products on the market do not work as well in dairy formulations as they do in regular beverages, such as fizzy drinks, Martin adds. “By understanding the sensory contribution of the different glycosides ​… we can help select the best solution for the formulation goal,”​ he says.
