Food Manufacture reporter wins media prize
Food Manufacture’s multimedia reporter Laurence Gibbons picked up the Multi-channel journalist of the year award at William Reed Business Media’s (WRBM) Editorial Excellence Awards in May.
The award is made to a journalist who has shown editorial excellence across all channels and platforms, and made the most effort to create excellent content using a variety of media – such as online, social media and audio visual.
Gibbons was recognised for an exclusive video he produced taking the viewer behind the scenes of 2 Sisters Food Group’s new microbiology lab in Nottingham, a ‘Rich list’ photogallery and an interactive map detailing where jobs had been lost and gained in the food and drink manufacturing sector.
The judges said Gibbons had set new benchmarks for his brand’s online performance and raised the bar for journalists working on other WRBM publications.
“His use creative use of image galleries, infographics, and interactive maps has been consistently well received and generated growth in terms of traffic for his brand,” they said.
“This, coupled with a lively and engaging video presentation style and great editing work really stood out to us.”
