Mini O set to take the gluten-free snacking market by storm

One of the UK’s leading gluten-free (GF) food manufacturers will launch a new range of GF biscuits onto the market in response to consumer demand for more GF snacking options.

More than 90% of adults in the UK buy sweet snacks and over half of the UK's ‘free-from’ households buy into the category, says DS-gluten free.

20% of consumers

The biscuits, which will be sold in 115 Sainsbury stores, are expected to be bought by 20% of consumers following a GF diet, claims the company.

Each biscuit in the ‘Mini O’ range has a soft and creamy vanilla filling, sandwiched between two chocolate-flavoured biscuits. They have a 12-month shelf-life and contain no gluten, wheat, egg or preservatives, says DS.

‘Significant growth’

“Our top selling biscuit range has experienced a significant growth in sales over the past year, so we are confident that this new addition will prove to be popular amongst consumers,”​ it adds.

The new range was inspired by the popular US biscuit, the Oreo, and is expected to appeal to adults and children.
