Temperature control for chocolate consistency

Chocolate firm installs temperature control

A leading, unnamed UK chocolate biscuit, cake and snack bar maker has installed a system from ICS Cool Energy to improve the temperature control of the chocolate it uses during manufacture.

Until recently, the facility had relied heavily on an ageing central boiler to heat water, which was then distributed through a network of piping to jacketed storage vessels.

To improve temperature control, ICS engineers installed a T90t thermo-regulator with a C7 advanced controller, which offers full flow and pressure monitoring.

“The product stays at consistent temperature levels and its integrity is assured,” says Dave Palmer, sales director at ICS Cool Energy.

The manufacturer’s process technologist says: “The new thermo-regulators have directly improved our processes through better control capabilities and vastly improved flow and temperature monitoring. I can confidently say that the consistency of our chocolate is a million times better.”
