Tropical flavours in the soft drinks sector are a growing trend, as a result of the 2012 Olympics and the World Cup, new Innova data suggests.

Pineapple, mango, passion fruit, coconut, lemon and guava were the most popular tropical fruit flavours among new product launches in the soft drinks sector from 2007 to 2013, says the data.

To tap into the high demand, flavour company Wild has launched a new range of natural tropical fruit flavours for the beverage sector in time for the summer.

Exotic

As well as launching a full spectrum of familiar tropical flavours, such as mango, passion fruit and coconut, Wild has tapped into more “exotic flavours such as kaffir lime, pink guava, guaraná and camu camu, which are for consumers who want more variety, says Wild.

Flavours are offered as single products, but can also be blended with others to create flavour combinations. They can also be used in various products, including fortified waters, carbonated and still drinks.
