Bavaria's new UK md to drive non-alcoholic beer
Also exhibiting at the CFG was Bavaria, which claims to be the largest independent brewery in the Netherlands.
With a turnover in excess of €400M, the firm is 100% family owned and exports to more than 120 countries, employs 1,000 people and has subsidiaries in Spain, France, Italy and the UK.
The company’s recently appointed UK md, Rob Page, who joined the company just two weeks ago from Kingsland Wines and Spirits, was on hand to greet UK delegates. Page previously held senior posts at Treasury Wine Estates, Carlsberg-Tetley and Kettle Foods.
The company was promoting its full range of products, including Bavaria Premium, Swinckels’ pilsner, Bavaria 8.6, Waater mineral water, Hollandia lager beer and B52 energy drink.
However, one of Page’s core remits is to drive sales of Bavaria 0.0, its alcohol-free beer, which now comes in four varieties: Original, Wit, Lemonade Radler and Fruity Rosѐ.
“Bavaria already has a 40% share of the alcohol-free market in the off trade and with the help of the experienced, committed team here, I’m confident we can build on this by delivering exciting new products and refreshing ideas to the trade,” said Page.
