Earl of Iveagh and the Guinness family
A direct descendant of Arthur Guinness, who invented the famous stout in 1759, Iveagh inherited his title and £62M in Guinness shares in 1992.
He has little involvement in the business, owned by Diageo, but now has a family stake of £200M in the drinks giant.
He also owns the Elveden estate on the Norfolk-Suffolk border and has a personal wealth of £850M.
The family’s Canada-based British Pacific Properties business owns 2,400 acres.
City analysts were critical of Diageo’s first quarter results in October.
