Baby food recalled over safety concerns
Plum Baby Foods was also forced to recall one of its products amid safety fears last week.
The Buckinghamshire-based business recalled pouches of its Plum Bread & Butter Pudding with a ‘best before’ date of January 15 2015 because it was under-processed.
This was likely to cause food spoilage as well as making it potentially unsafe to eat.
As a result, product recall notices will be displayed in stores supplied, and the barcode of the affected products will be blocked.
Customers would be contacted via the homepage on the company website, Twitter and Facebook, explaining why the product had been recalled and the actions they could take if they have bought the affected product, the firm claimed.
Plum Baby Foods said: “If you have bought the above product, do not eat it or feed it to your family. Instead, return the product to the store where you bought it or contact Plum Baby Foods customer helpline on 0800 157 7123.”
