Premier Foods’s non-executive director David Wild has stood down from his role with the manufacturer to take up the position of ceo at Domino’s Pizza Group.

Wild, who joined Premier Foods in 2011 and was ceo of Halfords Group until 2012, will replace Lance Batchelor, who left the firm on April 30 2014.

Before this, Wild held a number of roles with Walmart and spent almost 20 years with Tesco, where he led the retailer’s Central Europe business.

‘Significant contribution’

David Beever, chairman of Premier Foods, praised Wild’s “significant contribution” to the business.

“On behalf of the board I would like to thank David Wild for his significant contribution as non-executive director, chairman of the Remuneration Committee and senior independent director during a transformational period for the company. We wish him every success in his new role.”

Jennifer Laing, non-executive director at Premier Foods, will replace David Wild as chair of the Remuneration Committee and Ian Krieger, non-executive director and chairman of the Audit Committee, will replace David Wild as senior independent director with immediate effect.

Stephen Hemsley, non-executive chairman of Domino’s, said he was delighted that Wild will be joining the firm permanently, following a period as interim ceo.

“Since becoming Interim ceo in January, he has impressed the board with his passion and understanding of both the company and our franchisees,” he added. “He has brought clarity of thought to our strategy, both in how to progress in the UK and Internationally. Having conducted a full and thorough recruitment process, we are confident he is the best person to take the business forward.”
