Wispa an internet success
Another Mondelez International brand – Cadbury Wispa – makes up the top five most liked brands on Facebook in the UK.
According to Social Bakers, it has 1.8M (1,845,951) ‘likes’ in the UK and over 2M worldwide.
The bar was first launched in 1981, before being discontinued in 2003. However, after a successful internet campaign in 2007 to bring back the brand, it was re-launched in 2008.
A gag about the chocolate bar was named funniest joke at last year’s Edinburgh Festival Fringe.
Cadbury Wispa’s UK sales for the 52 weeks to September 14 2013 were £68.5M, according to market analyst information Resources.
