Did we miss anyone?
Did we miss anyone? If you know of any practising food scientists that you feel should have made our list, let us know.
Email: Laurence.gibbons@wrbm.com with the name of the scientist and why you feel they should have been included.
Nominations have arrived already for one scientist not on the list.
The director general of the British Nutrition Foundation (BNF) Judy Buttriss has been nominated for her work within the UK food manufacturing and retail sector, by David Webster, head of sustainability for the Jordans & Ryvita Company, part of Associated British Food.
Buttriss was a contender to be crowned Personality of the year at the 2012 Food manufacturing excellence awards.
The judges said: “As well as leading a charity dedicated to raising public awareness about the science of nutrition, Buttriss is a high-profile ambassador for the BNF itself.”
It has been brought to our attention that the president of the Association of Public Analysts, Liz Moran, was also honoured in the top 100 list for her work in the fight against food fraud.
Moran was heavily involved in advising government and industry during the horsemeat scandal.
