The chairman of the English Food and Drink Alliance and former president of the Institute of Food Science & Technology, Colin Dennis, was honoured on the list of the top 100 practising scientists.
Dennis was recognised, on the business/ marketing category, for his leadership and senior management experience in food research and contribution to the development of food science.
He is also an honorary fellow of the Royal Agricultural Society.
Dennis said he was delighted to be included in the list, but even more pleased that the importance of food science had been recognised.
“Our profession is so important and has tremendous opportunities in responding to the global challenges of food safety, sustainable food supply chains, health and wellness, food security and evidence based public policies and regulations.”
Last year, Dennis chaired Food Manufacture’s Food safety conference. Watch our exclusive video with him to find out what he said were the key food safety concerns raised at the conference.
