Allied Bakeries wins top national food manufacturing award

Nick Law, Allied Bakeries’ operations director, received the award for Bakery manufacturing company of the year

Allied Bakeries has won the coveted title Bakery manufacturing company of the year in the industry Oscars – Food Manufacture’s Food Manufacturing Excellence Awards (FMEAs), at the London Park Lane Hilton last month.

The achievements of the very successful national plant bakery business were recognised in front of hundreds of industry guests, as Allied Bakeries’ operations director Nick Law received the award from Mark Varney, director of food with awards sponsor Fareshare.

They were joined on stage by awards presenter and TV Countryfile star Julia Bradbury.

The award judges – led by judging panel chairman Paul Wilkinson – praised Allied Bakeries’ commitment to invest in its business to gain market share.

The judges said: “Allied Bakeries has done very well in improving its breakfast breads – a category where it is difficult to introduce healthy products. It has also addressed consumers’ desire to reduce waste through the Kingsmill Little Big Loaf.”

Also shortlisted in this category were: Fletchers Group of Bakeries, Rich Products and Tamar Foods.
