Demand for sweet stevia soars

Mona Rademacher, European marketing manager, Enliten, at Ingredion Germany says: “As public awareness of the importance of health and diet increases, more and more consumers are looking to reduced-sugar and low-calorie alternatives.
“Since gaining approval in 2011, we have seen a steep rise in the use of stevia in Europe and the region now drives the global market, with the UK, Belgium, and Germany seeing the most new launches.”
Enliten sweeteners are said to provide a number of processing advantages, such as excellent stability, even under strenuous processing conditions. Versatile as well as effective, the sweeteners are available both as granules and in a powder format, and can be combined with a number of other sweeteners, texturisers and flavour systems. They can be used to deliver great tasting, low-calorie, reduced- and no-added sugar products, including fruit preparations, flavoured dairy products, beverages, confectionery and sauces such as ketchup.
