Irish cooked meats supplier Dawn Farms has identified two key consumer trends to drive more profitable innovation in meats: 'quest for health and wellness' and 'sustainable lives'.

“Food innovation is one of the essential building blocks of our business,” ​said John McGrath, the firm's business development and communications director. “Our customers, who are leaders in their chosen sectors, demand this kind of ‘trend relevance’ from us on all the innovative new meat ingredients and toppings we supply.”

‘Quest for health and wellness’

The ‘Quest for health and wellness’ trend indicates consumers want to improve their health through making better choices. 'Sustainable lives' refers to products that create less negative impact on the world, giving consumers a feelgood factor that doesn't harm their wallets.”

Forecasting trends has helped the firm to get ahead of the curve in the past, such as developing its own gluten-free meatball products.
