Ann Savage, group technical director, Bakkavör Group
Ann Savage has over 30 years’ experience within the food manufacturing industry, gained most recently as group technical director of Bakkavör.
She was appointed to the role in 2004 and has overall responsibility for the business’s corporate social responsibility policies and performance, including food safety, health and safety and the environment.
In April she flew to Kenya with 14 other female business leaders from the UK food industry as part of the Food for Good initiative in support of the charity Farm Africa.
She worked alongside a team of local women farmers to dig an Olympic swimming pool-sized fish pond to set up the rural community in freshwater fish-farming so that they could be self-sufficient and self-sustainable.
Savage is also a member of grocery think tank IGD’s Industry Sustainability Group.
