Fiona Kendrick, chairman and chief executive, Nestlé UK and Ireland
Fiona Kendrick took over from Paul Grimwood at the helm of Nestlé a year ago, following a long career with the manufacturer.
She developed her early career with Nestlé in the UK, heading up its Food & Beverage Division for six years, before leading Nestlé’s global coffee business in Switzerland.
Since taking on the role, she has worked tirelessly to tackle some of the issues facing the food and drink sector. In February she claimed graduates lacked the personal skills and business acumen needed to work in the sector.
She also played a key role in helping to prepare the way for Britain’s first accredited food and drink engineering degree, which begins in September 2014 and lasts four years, at Sheffield Hallam University.
It is for these reasons, and more, that Kendrick is in the running to be crowned Personality of the Year at this Year’s Food and Drink Manufacturing Excellence Awards.
