Ursula Lavery, technical director, Moy Park
Ursula Lavery was appointed technical director at Moy Park earlier this year, following the firm taking over the responsibility for leadership and management of its Brazilian parent company Marfrig’s European operations.
The 25-year veteran of the food sector currently sits on a number of advisory boards – including the Food Standard Agency’s Joint Working Group for Campylobacter Reduction, British Poultry Council Biosecurity Group – and is a member of the Scientific and Technical Committee at Campden BRI.
Moy Park has successfully managed to reduce its carbon emissions by 11,288 tonnes since 2011, as outlined in its 2012/13 Corporate Responsibly Report.
The poultry processor reduced its electricity consumption by 8% – the equivalent of enough electricity to power 3,500 homes for an entire year.
