There’s still time to sign up for the Food Manufacture Group’s free one-hour webinar dedicated to learning the lessons of the horsemeat crisis, which takes place at 11am GMT today, Thursday May 16.

We have assembled an expert line-up of speakers – whose expertise spans food science and technology, regulatory authority, consumer insight research and food law – to trace the impact of the crisis on the British food industry. Speakers will also address the key question of how best food and drink buisnesses can protect themselves against food fraud and contamination.

Speakers at the online event – organised in partnership with law firm DWF – include:

Professor Tony Hines, head of food security and crisis management at Leatherhead Food Research, who will put the horsemeat contamination in perspective with lessons learnt from previous food contamination scandals. He will also recommend how food businesses can guard the integrity of their supply chains.

Andrew Rhodes, director of operations with the Food Standards Agency, who will examine the regulatory framework surrounding the contamination crisis.

Kiti Soininen, head of Mintel’s UK food and drink research team, who will focus on how the crisis has affected shoppers’ buying habits, what lessons can be learned from previous food scares and how food manufacturers should respond.

Hilary Ross, partner with event sponsor DWF, will advise food and drink businesses on the legal framework surrounding the meat contamination crisis.

Book your free place at the hour long webinar, starting at 11am GMT tomorrow here.

Don’t forget, you can put a question to any or all of our panel during the webinar to be answered after the presentations end.
