Charlene and Michel de Carvalho
The only daughter of the late Freddy Heineken leads our list of people featured in The Sunday Times Rich List 2013, who made their fortune in the food and drink sector.
Charlene de Carvalho, along with her husband Michel, inherited her £7bn fortune from her father Freddy Heineken in 2002. Heineken reported a profit of £1.4bn last year – driven by strong sales to north and south America.
Meanwhile, last year Heineken was voted the ninth most popular beer in the US. The poll, by research group Harris International, was topped by Newcastle Brown Ale – which is also owned by Heineken International.
