A woman ate part of a ‘rodent’ in a sandwich she bought in Tesco.
Katie Crabtree, aged 31, had bitten into the food and swallowed part "a hairy creature", which she thought was a rodent, before noticing the remainder of its corpse in the sandwich.
Crabtree had bought the pre-packed chicken, bacon and lettuce sandwich at the Stockport branch of the supermarket chain.
The shocked shopper accused Tesco of trying to ignore her when she failed to receive a response to her initial complaint, made both in store and to head office.
Tesco eventually sent her a £10 voucher and a letter of apology.
The retail giant said: “We have apologised to our customer and we are urgently investigating this matter with our supplier.”
