pizza-joblosses
Hundreds of jobs were threatened when the loss of a key contract with Morrisons forced pizza producer, Paramount Foods into administration.
Duff & Phelps, which was appointed joint administrators on October 5, made a further 41 redundancies last week (Friday October 26).
This takes the number of redundancies to 173 across the company’s two sites.
The cuts included 41 at the pizza product site in Salford and 118 in Deeside, North Wales, in addition to 14 salaried redundancies across the two sites.
David Whitehouse, of Duff & Phelps, said: “While the company has incurred trading losses historically, the recent loss of a major customer has left it without any prospect of returning to profitability in line with a turnaround plan embarked upon in July this year.”
