US firm wins British safety award
A judging panel of health and safety practitioners applauded the product's strong design and cost-effectiveness. Judges said the Rack Sentry 100mm cut-out was: "Like an airbag for racking."
Rotationally moulded from a durable, stress-crack resistant polyethylene, Rack Sentry flexes to absorb impact, preventing damage due to forklift collision, while also protecting the forklift and its operator. The product is easily installed without the use of tools and is able to withstand multiple collisions without the need for replacement.
The Design 4 Safety Awards emphasise the role of product design in materials handling and logistics health and safety.
Sentry's proprietor, Jim Ryan, said: "The show has been everything we expected and it's a real bonus to win one of the prestigious Design 4 Safety Awards."
