Chilled food distributor Freshlinc has signed a six-year contract with logistics solutions provider Isotrak to boost the efficiency of its refrigerated delivery fleet.

Freshlinc is replacing existing Navman tracking units on 120 trailers with Isotrak's alternative and installing them on a further 65 trailers that are new to the fleet. The rollout was completed at the end of last month.

The updated tracking system, ATMS, combines the latest satellite tracking technology with intelligent transport management applications to deliver real-time visibility and measurement of whole fleets and individual vehicles.

"Uniquely, Isotrak is able to automatically provide our customers with visibility of the work we do for them," said Trefor Evans, general manager of Freshlinc, which is based in Spalding, Lincolnshire and transports more than 1.7M pallets of chilled and fresh produce per year to the major retailers. "With the new system we will ensure that we keep delivering the highest levels of customer service at the minimum cost and with the lowest carbon emissions."
