Speciality food manufacturers are being invited to pitch their wares to Holland & Barrett and Julian Graves at the Ricoh Arena in Coventry on May 13 as the retailers seek to spice up their Christmas range.

The event has been designed to help the firms source “new and innovative products for Christmas 2010”, said group director of marketing Phil Geary. “The search is now on for products and ranges for the festive season that will make both retailers the destination of choice for shoppers seeking food and gift products for the festive season.”

The retailers, which together have almost 900 stores in the UK and Ireland, plan to list at least 500 new lines for Christmas, said Geary: “No supplier is too big or small, and there is potential for all types of product. The team is tasked to list as many new products as possible over the coming months and we pledge full in-store marketing support to enhance success.”

He added: “We also pack our own lines of fruits, nuts, seeds and snacks and would like to encourage bulk suppliers of these goods, without a finished product, to come along and talk to us about what produce they have to offer for the Christmas season.”

Holland & Barrett acquired Julian Graves from Icelandic investor Baugur in late 2008.
