The East Midlands Food and Drink Innovation Network (iNet) is holding a series of events across the region this month enabling local manufacturers to hook up with technology firms and academics to explore new initiatives and solve problems.

Participants will also be encouraged to apply for innovation support grants of up to £10,000 (out of a £250,000 pot supplied by the East Midlands Development Agency) to develop new projects.

The four events will cover: safe food and healthy eating; logistics and supply chain; new product development and accessing new markets; and efficient resource management.

Firms already benefitting from the grants include Chesterfield-based Jacksons the Bakers, which has used the cash to help implement a new IT system.
