Kemtile has supplied almost 7,000m2 of seamless flooring ceramic for Robert Wiseman's new flagship dairy in Bridgwater.

The £80M Bridgwater dairy has been built according to green business principles and the facility aims to maintain the highest standards of environmental efficiency.

Of the flooring supplied, 6,500m2 was 9mm thick Ucrete UD200 laid across all areas of the facility, including the silos, filling and packing hall, milk treatment areas, chemical store and the laboratories. Ucrete heavy-duty polyurethane screed features resin technology with exceptional resistance to aggressive chemicals, heavy impact and temperatures of up to 150°C.

It is ideal for applications in wet process environments and, when correctly installed, Ucrete UD200 can withstand regular and routine discharges of boiling water, hot oils and fats.

In the tank room, Kemtile installed 400m2 of Kagetec GFK using fully vitrified 18mm thick hexagon floor tiles. The combination of vibration tiling and a plastic mesh reinforced epoxy membrane/adhesive between the tiles and the bedding medium makes GFK one of the toughest floors available.

Every tile is encased in epoxy resin, so if the grout is damaged, the tile bedding is protected. Its impervious substrate makes it ideal for wet areas.
