Sales of yoghurts, desserts and milk drinks are worth £3bn and growing by 6.6% per year, according to Food Manufacture's latest market report, compiled by RTS Resource.
The retail sector accounted for £2.5bn while sales through foodservice reached £0.5bn, according to the study. Yoghurts remain the largest market in value terms, worth £1.2bn in 2007. However, shining stars of this sector include yoghurt drinks and juices and one-shot fermented milk drinks. Both segments have shown rapid growth over the past five years with expenditure on yoghurt drinks & juices growing at 20.2% per year and one-shot fermented milk drinks at 12%.See http://www.foodmarketreports.com.
