As the consumer demand for natural ingredients continues, kiwifruit grower and processor Kiwifruit Extract Ventures Limited (KEVL) has launched a range of high-potency kiwifruit compounds aimed at dietary supplement and cosmeceutical manufacturers. The range includes a vegetarian source of omega-3 and an antioxidant.

Kiwifruit seed oil is a source of omega-3 alpha-linolenic acid and antioxidants. The combination of essential fatty acids and antioxidants is said to have anti-inflammatory and dermal reconstructive benefits.

"The potential benefits offered by previously discarded and undigested kiwifruit seeds are extraordinary," comments KEVL's chief executive, Simon Spratt. "Our studies have demonstrated that kiwifruit extract improves skin radiance, reduces the appearance of fine lines and reduces dark circles under the eyes."
