Acne-ridden teens may well be drawn to nutraceuticals company Works With Water's range of flavoured spring waters with clinically proven health benefits.
Beauty is the UK's first bottled spring water that contains ingredients that reduce the inflammation of acne blemishes and the bacteria that cause them.
The product was developed with Works With Water's ingredients partner DKSH, and is the first spring water to contain the active ingredient Praventin - a protein complex that has been shown in medical trials to reduce acne blemishes by 95% within two months.
Praventin is a natural ingredient, derived from whey and rich in lactoferrin - a protein that retards bacterial and fungal growth. It supports a clear complexion by enhancing the body's defences. Each bottle of Beauty contains 0.1g of Praventin - half of the recommended daily amount for sufferers of problem skin.
The water also contains aloe vera, known for its soothing effects on the skin and digestive system. Company founder Jules Birch says: "Praventin has been shown to be highly effective in reducing the development of the bacteria responsible for many skin impurities.
"By adding it to a spring water formulation we have created a product that will not only hydrate skin but cleanse it from within to stop blemishes forming."
