Antrim-based Steve's Cakes has bought an Aisle-Master articulated forklift to take care of the handling and storage of pallets of raw materials as well as the finished product.

The company supplies the multiple and independent sector in the UK and Ireland with 12 different lines of traybakes and biscuits, producing 800,000 traybakes a week. The 2t capacity Aisle-Master forklift was bought to replace a counterbalance truck. Its articulated design allows it to work in much narrower confines. And by putting racking in the warehouse to suit its capabilities, Steve's Cakes has gained 40% more storage space in the same area. This has allowed it to increase production without having to buy extra space or relocate.

The Aisle-Master electric-powered forklift has non-marking tyres fitted to ensure clean operation in the warehouse. The Aisle-Master range can work in aisles just 1.75m wide with capacities up to 2.5t and lift heights up to 12.5m.
