Fish Processor Pinneys of Scotland, part of Uniq, has installed two Thermo Scientific EZx contaminant detection units. Chosen for their ease of use, simplicity and increased sensitivity, particularly for products packaged in metalised film or foil, the two systems are inspecting a range of ready meals for a major high street retailer. They complement two existing EZx machines already installed.

The latest Thermo Scientific EZx contaminant detection units are installed on separate lines handling the new fish-based ready meals, which are packaged in either aluminium foil trays or amorphous polyethylene terephthalate. The previous EZx machines inspect traditional meal products and smoked salmon.

The new units provide complete protection from metal, glass, stone, bone, plastic and other dense foreign objects.
