Two new appointments have strengthened the team at Improve, the food and drink sector skills council.

Sue Fairest​ has been appointed as skills development manager. In this newly created role, Fairest will have responsibility for Improve’s Information, Advice and Guidance (IAG) programme, promoting the benefits of learning, and providing potential employees with information about jobs and qualifications. She joins Improve after six years as director of projects at the manufacturers’ organisation, EEF.

Amanda Clark​ has been appointed as skills development advisor, a role that will see her working to revise food and drink qualifications, making them more relevant and ensuring that they respond to employer needs. Clarke was previously with the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development in London.
