Steph Pearson has been appointed business development manager at The Society of Food Hygiene and Technology (SOFHT), coinciding with its name change.
Pearson, who has been involved within the food, drink and pharmaceutical industries for over 10 years, has been given the task of expanding and broadening the society’s membership.
At SOFHT's annual general meeting, Catherine Watkinson of Lyons Seafoods, was also elected to the Board of directors.
SOFHT chairman, Simon Houghton-Dodd, said: “With the change of name and the input of a new member of staff and director, we visualise that it is exciting times at the society as these changes are implemented. For the industry to keep providing safe food, we must provide the right information for our members in order that they can maintain and improve the standards."
