Alpro Soya UK has appointed Kate Walburn as its new company dietitian.

Walburn became a registered dietitian in 1995 and worked as a clinical dietitian in both hospital and community settings. In 1999 she took the role of company dietitian at Sainsbury, where she worked for six years. Walburn played a vital role in advising Sainsbury on its food and health strategy, including the ‘Wheel of Health’ nutrition signposting scheme and the development of the ‘Be Good to Yourself’, ‘Kids’ and ‘Free From’ ranges.

John Allaway, commercial director at Alpro, commented: “Walburn’s interest in nutrition communication and helping consumers of all ages understand how to make healthy food choices makes her the perfect choice for Alpro Soya, a company dedicated to nutrition and wellbeing.”

In her new position at Alpro Soya, Walburn will be responsible for development and implementation of Alpro UK’s nutrition and science strategy, which includes advice on nutrition labeling and nutrition communication strategies for customers, healthcare professionals and external liaison.
