Computerised lubrication extends life
Castrol says its new automated conveyor lubrication system can significantly increase conveyor chain and trolley life and reduce maintenance time.
The Lubecon conveyor system uses a computerised system controller to provide accurate lubrication to as many as four different lubricators, using fluid from a central reservoir with a capacity of up to 200 litres.
The lubricant is applied in exact quantities to a precise schedule which is infinitely variable to ensure continuous effective lubrication for components such as chain links and pins, trolleys, bearings and cat drives.
The system uses a portable monitoring unit, which is capable of measuring all combinations of conveyors with three, four and six-inch chains.
Windows-based software allows chain wear profiles to be used for wear trend analysis.
