Conquering the problem of dealing with oily wastes

The DecaOil three-phase decanter centrifuge from Hiller is now available for process trials in the UK.

The DO37-422 model which has the ability to separate oil from solids and water is targeted at companies that process oily interceptor waste sludges, vegetable oils, bio diesel fuels and food manufacturing applications.

At recent trials in the UK the machine was able to recover three separate phases and discharge the solids as a stackable cake suitable for transportation off site by normal skip or trailer.

The volume reduction in dewatering sludges from a feed of 4% dry solids to a cake at 25 - 30% dry solids is in the order of 80% and the oil can be sold on.

Capacity of the trial machine is 3-12m3/h, while other models in the range are capable of processing up to 70m3/h.

Much of the world's olive oil production is said to be produced on Hiller centrifuges.
