More than 70% of firms think a scheme that set out to eliminate duplication and contradiction between local authority regulators, such as trading standards, has worked well.

According to a survey conducted among nearly 11,000 firms by the Local Authorities Coordinators of Regulatory Services (LACORS), the so-called Home Authority Principle, which gives firms operating in several locations a "buddy" authority from which to seek advice, is saving cost, time and effort.
