Following the success of its creamy caramelised 'apple fluff', designed to accompany pre-packed pork chops, Brecon-based Beacon Foods has developed a new range of blended ingredients to accompany other meat and ready meals dishes.
For example it now offers char-grilled quartered shallots and sliced flat cap mushrooms as a tasty steak topping. Other blends include mixed peppers and sultanas with a tandoori paste or sliced onions with tandoori paste, both for speciality naan breads.
The company identified a trend towards blending vegetables with a combination of flavours to represent different ethnic cuisines. Now, whether seeking Indian, Caribbean or traditional British vegetables, Beacon can blend and season to customer requirement.
It also has a range of new tangy flavours for salsas, chutneys and relishes. The new products use chillies, peppers, tomatoes, onions, fruits, vegetables, herbs and spices and are designed for sandwiches and pizza toppings.
"We can tailor the salsas, chutney and relishes to suit the customer and the potential of using different fruit and vegetables is enormous," says Beacon's md Edward Gough.
