New Zealand-based ethnic food company Kato Pacific Marketing has travelled the globe to develop authentic recipes for three new soups that can be used as components to create a main meal.

The company has developed the soups to be combined with noodles to take soups beyond being a light snack and enable them to become part of a bigger meal. It also intends for the soups to be enjoyed all year round, unlike traditional soups which it says usually have a winter focus in New Zealand.

Three eastern flavours have been developed -- Malaysian Chilli Crab, Vietnamese Chicken Laksa, and Burmese Shredded Beef, which Kato says will offer consumers tastes usually associated with restaurants.
