Confectioner looks for quick changes for its production and packaging lines

An unnamed confectionery manufacturer in Slough is in talks with Rockwell Automation about installing new conveying control systems on its production and packaging lines. This will permit quick and easy changes to be made between different manufacturing configurations for different products.

Rockwell's new Allen-Bradley ArmorStart distributed motor starter is the first in a series of 'on-machine' devices to be launched over the coming months. It makes use of simple DeviceNet connection technology which considerably reduces the complexities and costs of wiring traditionally required when building conveying lines.

An IP67 rating means that controllers are resistant to water ingress during washdown.
