Expert help is needed to get the best process efficiencies out of bespoke equipment

Dairies making niche products on bespoke equipment rarely have in-house capabilities to optimise their processes, says equipment supplier Roaches. But it believes it has the expertise they require.

Roaches can manufacture entire machines or produce modular units to link to other equipment. An example of a bespoke solution developed by Roaches for a cheese supplier is the Opti-Core, which cuts and removes a small core from the cheese prior to the second phase in which it is segmented into wedges.

Opti-Core has helped reduce handling and improved cutting quality. It also gives clean edges at the wedge point to save time spent on trimming. The weight of each wedge is consistent, making packaging easier.
