Steam generation improves

Dairy ice cream, dessert and bakery products manufacturer D Sidoli & Sons has a new Clayton steam generator at its factory in Welshpool, Powys, to help boost production.

The generator has a forced circulation monotube coil design, which means boiler feedwater is pumped through a helical coil heat exchanger where heat from the fuel is transferred to the feedwater.

A mechanical centrifugal separator at the outlet of the coil separates liquid and vapour and provides steam.

The generator contains the amount of water needed to produce steam, plus a small excess. The result is high efficiency and rapid start-up combined with fast response and small size.
