Sharwood's looks to Asia for new frozen foods
RHM Frozen Foods has looked towards Asia for inspiration for a new range of frozen foods under its popular ethnic brand Sharwood's.
The company is adding value to the frozen sector and is bringing to it recipes and flavours that so far have only been incorporated into chilled products. It says its new additions will encourage consumers to explore the tastes of Asia "without fear of failure".
Noodles of Asia is a selection of four recipes based on dishes from various parts of Asia presented in a bowl format. The range consists of Chicken & Coconut Curry, Spicy Chilli Chicken, Thai Red Chicken Curry and Chinese Chicken and Mushroom.
The manufacturer is also boosting the appeal of more conventional curry offerings through its Rice Bowls. These consist of curry ready mixed with rice, also in a bowl, which it says offers a more convenient and snack format to the ready meals. The new Rice Bowls come in Chicken Balti, Chicken Tikka, Lamb Keema and Chicken Korma variants.
It has also launched two curries -- Chicken Korma and Chicken Bhuna -- in a similar bowled format, but which contain a naan bread instead of rice for consumers with smaller appetites.
